James 3: 17-18 “But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without a trace of partiality or hypocrisy. And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace for those who make peace.”

Col. 3:15 "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful."

As members of the body of Christ we are called to live a life of peace. When peace rules in our hearts we are drawn closer into a right relationship with God and with others. A life of peace binds us together. A heart of gratitude and a pure spirit produces peace, tranquility and contentment.  Let us live out a conviction of peace and serenity in our Christian walk, so that God’s desire to work in us and through us may be fully realized.

Prayer of St. Francis:

Lord, make me an instrument of Thy peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.

Amen.
