“… he will wipe every tear from their eyes.
Death will be no more; mourning and crying and pain
will be no more; for the first things have past away.”
- Revelation 21:4

All Saints Day - The day in which we remember that great cloud of witnesses that have gone on before us.  We have all lost family members, friends, choir members, church members, spouses, partners.  It is such a difficult time in our lives when we say farewell.  But, as John tells us in the above scripture, we must remain strong.  On this high and holy day, as each saint’s name is read, as each bell is tolled, as each candle is lit, remember: God will always be with us!  God is “the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end.”

Almighty and Everlasting God,
who dost enkindle the flame of Thy love in the hearts of the saints, grant unto us the same faith and power of love;
that, as we rejoice in their triumphs we may profit by their examples, through Jesus Christ our Lord.  AMEN.
- Gothic Missal
