Isaiah 12:2
Surely God is my salvation;
I will trust, and not be afraid,
for the Lord God is my strength and my might,
and he has become my salvation.
More than fifty years ago, I moved with my new husband to a part of the country I had never seen and where we would live for a number of years. The food was different; accents and customs were strange; weather was extremely different. And yet, we felt that there were three of us – my husband, me, and God. We made many dear friends and when we had to move we found it very difficult. God was with us, helped us through blizzards and illnesses, and we knew that God was indeed with us.
During this Advent season as we prepare again for the coming of the Christ Child, let us remember to keep a song in our hearts and to be thankful for the love which God spreads over us every day.
Creator God, who prepared the way for Christ, who prepares the way for us, help us to seek your will, and prepare for the future you have planned for us. Amen.
And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil. 4:7.
